In addition to our passion for farming and family-owned businesses, we are and cater to pilots. Our team has three trained aerial application pilots and a Certified Flight Instructor. We provide fuel service to help you gas up, flight instruction to train future pilots, have a courtesy car available, and offer a pilot lounge to make your visit to Pontiac Municipal Airport a comfortable one. Who we are

Located just off of Route 66 in beautiful Central Illinois, Pontiac Flying Service is a family owned business dedicated to serving the businesses and individuals we’ve come to know and love since our beginnings in 1997. We are pilots and farmers who care deeply for our communities and families, and we’re proud to serve yours.

Whether your top priority is your farm, business, airplane, a career as a pilot or planning an enjoyable weekend trip to Pontiac, we have specialized services to meet your unique needs. Located at Pontiac Municipal Airport (KPNT), Pontiac Flying Service is the sole fixed-based operator (FBO) in Pontiac, Illinois.

Our History

After Owner Scott Petersen earned his pilot’s license in 1980, he pursued his dream of becoming an Aerial Applicator. He earned his Aerial Application license in 1996 and started Pontiac Flying Service in Pontiac, Illinois to provide spray services and crop dusting to the area.

That first summer, Scott covered 846 acres for local farms. Today, with the help of a great team and supportive community, approximately 300,000 acres a summer benefit from the services we provide from the air. We are AgSync compatible, which allows customers to give Pontiac Flying Service remote access to spray their fields conveniently and accurately.
